Why is regular attendance important?
Daily attendance is extremely important, when students improve their attendance, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating. Premier High School is a mastery based program and students are required to test a minim of two times per week in order to stay on track towards getting promoted to the next grade level or meeting the graduation deadline. Missed days contribute to students falling behind schedule in completing their knowledge units.

What is the New Tardy Policy?
For each tardy a student will be assigned an hour tutorial after school. Once they have completed that tutorial they will turn in a note from their teacher to the Campus Director verifying the tutorial. Multiple tardy offenders will be referred to the Campus Director.
How can I get my student out of class for an appointment?
To avoid a long wait for your student in the main office (and so we won't have to interrupt valuable classroom time), the preferred method is:
1) E-mail email@example.com as soon as you know the time and date of your child's appointment. Include the following information in your e-mail: Student name, reason student is leaving (doctor, dentist appointment or other), what day and time your student needs to leave, and a daytime phone number where we can reach you (information may be verified). The teacher will be notified by our office.
2) Send a note with your student to the main office before school. Please include the information requested above. Our office will notify the teacher. Unless a student is a driver, parents are to come to the Main Office to sign out their student.
How can my student login to the student portal?
Students can type sis.responsiveed.com in their browser. Students can then enter their username and password to gain access to their online courses.
If your student has forgotten their username or password please have them email their teachers:

How do I get access to the parent portal to view my child's progress and grades online?

How can I obtain a Verification of Enrollment (VOE)?
A student must meet one of the following requirements to receive a VOE.
Met minimum attendance for class credit (90 Percent Rule) in each class they were enrolled in semester,
Received credit for all courses taken in the previous semester, OR
Has complied with the conditions established by the school to receive this VOE form.

FAQ's related to SCHOOL CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19
What does virtual learning mean for my student?
Premier High School has the benefit of moving all of our students from Knowledge Units to Online courses so that the learning of our students is not interrupted. While there are other tools like Google Classroom, Zoom Meetings, Google Hangouts, etc. that our teachers will be exploring please rest assured that students can continue to move through their coursework through our Buzz Learning Management system. The important thing is for students to login and communicate with their teachers every day.
Will my student need to reschedule their STAAR test?
No. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Monday that he would waive the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year so schools can focus on staying protected from the coronavirus COVID-19.
Is my student automatically exempt from the STAAR test?
No. The exemption is only valid for students who earn the course credit for the STAAR course in the 2019-2020 school year. If the student does not fully complete the STAAR course in the 2019-2020 school year, the student will be required to take the STAAR test the next offering date.
My student is a STAAR re-tester, are they exempt?
No. Students that were scheduled to retest will be scheduled to take the STAAR test in the next offering date.
My student is a Senior and still needs a STAAR test? Will this prevent them from graduating?
No. Seniors that are scheduled to graduate will be scheduled to receive an Individual Graduation Committee (IGC) meeting in order to still meet graduation requirements without having to take the STAAR test. The school will be reaching out to Seniors to help them through graduation completion requirements.
My student was scheduled to take the SAT, what happens now?
Currently, the SAT test has been postponed. We will provide our students with more information as it becomes available.
How will COVID-19 impact graduation ceremonies, requirements, and the end of the school year calendar? Will we need to add days to the end of the school year?
Premier H.S. of Austin North will be scheduling a parent meeting to discuss the options provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
TEA announced a comprehensive graduation ceremony guidance for Texas school systems. As part of Governor Greg Abbott’s Strike Force to Open Texas, TEA is providing four different pathways for schools to celebrate their graduating seniors:
Completely virtual ceremonies that take place entirely online, with the use of videoconference or other technologies;
Hybrid ceremonies, which consist of a compilation of videos of students being recognized in person as they celebrate graduation in small groups;
Vehicle ceremonies, in which students and their families wait in their cars while other graduates are recognized one at time with their families alongside them;
Outdoor in-person ceremonies, which are currently permitted for counties as follows:
Between May 15 and May 31, 2020, an outdoor ceremony may take place in a rural county that has an attestation as described in the “Texans Helping Texans: The Governor’s Report to Open Texas” (April 27, 2020) that remains in effect 7 days prior to the ceremony.
An outdoor ceremony may take place in any Texas county on or after June 1.
Ensuring public health and safety remains the focus for all involved. TEA has shared detailed guidance on how to safely conduct these ceremonies.
My student is in the TRIO program, can they finish this course?
The school is proceeding with virtual TRIO courses through Google Classrooms. Students have received a link to join the virtual classroom for viewing of required videos. If questions please contact Mr. Chris Rivera a email@example.com
What school cleaning procedures are in place to guard against COVID-19?
ResponsiveEd is following the guidance of the CDC to prepare for and respond to the evolving COVID-19 situation.
Custodial staff will perform extra cleaning of schools and Home Office. During Spring Break (and as needed thereafter), ResponsiveEd will conduct additional cleaning and disinfection in accordance with CDC guidelines.
ResponsiveEd Health Services has issued guidance for campus staff to use in identifying and assessing the health status of students or staff who are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
