grab & Go breakfast

Starting the day with a healthy school breakfast ensures that children have the nutrition they need to learn and thrive. A wide body of research supports the health and educational benefits of participation in the School Breakfast Program.

How do I Apply?

This year we will be offering a Grab & Go Breakfast as the students arrive to school. Below are two ways your child can receive breakfast:

  1. Apply for the Free and Reduced Meal Program. Once we receive confirmation, your child will receive breakfast each morning.

  2. If paying yourself, create a K12 Payment Center Account, deposit and manage your students meal account. Your student can request a breakfast pack each morning. (Cash Not Accepted)

      • Full Cost $2.50 each pack

      • Reduced Cost $ .30 each pack

  3. Breakfast Cart serving hours: 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM

      • Student can stop by the cart between serving hours and request their breakfast.

      • Student can take their breakfast and eat at their desk.

Applying for the Free and Reduced Meal Program is easy and fast. Families wishing to receive these benefits in the 2020-2021 school year will have to re-apply using the electronic application.

Free and Reduced Meal Program - COVID-19 Update

The Texas Department of Agriculture recently announced an extension of current school meal programs through December 31, 2020, or until funds are exhausted. This extension allows Premier High School Austin (Wells Branch) to provide free breakfast packs to any enrolled student for use at Premier only under the age of 19, or those who are 19 but under the age of 26 and are currently enrolled in school to complete requirements for a high school diploma. After December 31, 2020 students will be required to purchase meals again according to the eligibility status. Parents still need to complete the meal application at so that after December 31, 2020, their students can continue to receive free or reduced meal benefits.

In-person learners will receive free breakfast packs through the normal course of the school day. Students participating in off-campus, remote learning may pick up breakfast packs curbside, Monday’s from 8:00 – 8:30 am. Meals will be provided to parents or caregivers on campus, even when the child is not present, provided they can show evidence of the student’s enrollment.

It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free meals to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
